WA Sexual Health Week 2021

WA Sexual Health Week is just around the corner. This year WA Sexual Health Week kicks off on Sunday 14 February and runs until Sunday 21 February. Like other years, the theme of WA Sexual Health Week is Safety Pleasure Respect – three of the key elements to having a healthy sexual life.

WA Sexual Health Week is about celebrating and promoting sexual health in its entirety

An important part of taking care of your sexual health is preventing sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and unplanned pregnancy by practising safer sex including thinking about contraception options and getting regular STI tests. Taking care of your sexual health and having a healthy sexual life also means feeling and being safe physically, emotionally and mentally. Having a healthy sexual life means you and your partner/s feeling respected and giving each other respect. It’s about having respect for yourself and others – physically, emotionally and mentally; and others having the same respect for you. It’s about making sure consent is at the centre of all sexual activities, respecting boundaries and communicating openly with your sexual partners. Having a healthy sexual life is also about pleasure and everyone having fun and enjoying any sexual relationships they have.

WA Sexual Health Week kicks off with National Condom Day

Excitingly, WA Sexual Health Week 2021 kicks off with National Condom Day on February 14. Our friends at SHQ have been busy working on some great resources to celebrate all things healthy relationships, and safe, consensual, and pleasurable sex. The 2021 campaign focuses on some of the essentials for having a healthy sexual life – condoms, STI testing, consent and pleasure. SHQ have some great, very punderful, resources that you can check out here or you can get involved by using the #CondomDay2021 on your socials.
