Blood Safety
Blood is the fluid that transports oxygen and nutrients around the body. It plays a very important role for keeping our bodies healthy. There are some behaviours that can put a person at risk of blood-borne viruses (sometimes called BBVs), which are viruses that can be passed on from blood to blood contact. BBVs include HIV, hepatitis B and hepatitis C.
Activities that can put you at risk of BBVs include injecting drugs, getting a tattoo and getting a body piercing.
Keep your blood safe by reducing your risk of blood-borne viruses
